Form Filler or FormCarbon?
Form Filler saves your details under a profile name and fills forms with them. FormCarbon does the same job with a preview step. Several extensions are called Form Filler; this page is about the one in the Chrome Web Store whose website is formfiller.io (link at the end). It starts with the cases where Form Filler is the better choice.
FormCarbon is made by Quillfold, which publishes this page.
When Form Filler is the better fit
You want forms filled as soon as the page opens
Form Filler fills forms on any site by itself while it is switched on. On the FormCarbon free plan you press the toolbar button or the shortcut on each form; filling on open is part of Pro and is turned on site by site.
It already fills your forms the way you want
If the right values land in the right fields, there is no reason to switch.
You want as few steps as possible
Form Filler is a profile list and a switch. FormCarbon adds a preview, where you can change rows before anything is written; that is one more step.
You want a longer track record
Form Filler has 6,000 users in the Chrome Web Store. FormCarbon is new: it has been in the store since October 2026.
When FormCarbon is the better fit
You want to see each value before it is written
FormCarbon lists every field and the value it will get. Fields it cannot recognize appear as orange rows that ask you to choose. You can change a row or leave it empty, and Undo puts the fields back as they were. We did not find a preview or undo in Form Filler’s listing.
Postal codes and phone numbers are split across boxes
FormCarbon fills split postal codes and phone numbers, each country’s name order and address format, and Japanese furigana. The fill engine is checked against 53 sample forms in 9 languages (1,010 fields), and the forms are public, so you can try them. More: the sample forms
Some fields must stay empty
FormCarbon does not fill hidden fields, and it never saves card numbers, passwords, one-time codes or files in a profile, or fills them from one. It does not tick consent or newsletter boxes by default, and never submits the form: focus moves to the submit button, so you decide when to send. We did not find how Form Filler treats these fields in its listing.
You write the same messages often
Saved texts, such as an inquiry, can be picked for a field from the preview: up to 3 per profile on the free plan and 50 with Pro. Own fields cover anything the standard ones do not.
You would rather not give access to every site
FormCarbon reads only the tab where you press its button or shortcut, and filling on open (Pro) asks for one site at a time. Profiles stay on this device, and without a Pro key FormCarbon makes no network requests.
You want the screens in your language
Form Filler’s listing is in English. FormCarbon’s panel and settings page come in 9 languages, including Japanese, German, French and Korean.

“Not listed” means we did not find it in the store listing on the date above; “Not checked” means we did not look into it. Either may still work. The developer’s website, formfiller.io, did not respond when we checked, so we have not seen what it says about prices. We have not run Form Filler on our sample forms. Form Filler is a trademark of its owner. Quillfold is not affiliated with it.
Using both
Both fill forms from your saved details, so you would usually pick one. If you keep Form Filler, FormCarbon can still help on forms where you want to check each value first.
